New eye-catching energy-saving lighting system was switched on last week on Siimu bridge in Pärnu. The lightning solution consists of 80 LED lights of four different colors: yellow, red, blue and green. The spotlights are located at the ends of the uprights under the arc on both sides of the roadway.
The lights are programmed to change from time to time and there are different variations of lighting compositions to use, the director of the Department of Economics of Pärnu City Government, Mait Talvoja, said. According to Talvoja, new lighting set is very energy efficient as one small spotlight uses only 22 watts per hour and each spotlight has 22 LED-s in it.
Together with lighting reconstruction on Siimu bridge, also new regular street light system was built as well. There are 6 street lights on the both sides of the bridge and two more in the middle of the bridge, attached to the uprights. So, from now on the street lights there are cost effective LED-s as well.
